The 2E GS12 chemical light source is a lightweight, windproof, waterproof, non-toxic, flammable material safe device. In case of a fall (before or after activation), it is not damaged; the unactivated stick is suitable for long-term storage for years. All of this means that it can be safely attached to clothing or in the car without worrying about heat, electric shock, fire or burn risks.
The 2E portable chemical light source has two main components: a plastic container (stick) containing a chemical liquid (mainly a hydrogen peroxide solution) and a rather fragile, breakable inner container with phosphorescent and oxide-reducing substances. After activation (bending the stick by hand or shaking it violently), the internal container is destroyed, resulting in the mixing of substances and the start of a chemical reaction between them within the container (stick) with the generation of light energy.
After a certain time, the active phase is completed, the chemical reaction slows down and the light gradually fades. The time of the active phase of the stick’s glow is 12 hours. The chemical reaction cannot be interrupted or stopped, so chemical light sources are designed for one-time use!
The 30-cm-long device is suitable for household use, in unforeseen circumstances and in the field. Thanks to high-quality materials, the product is reliable and durable.
