CAT 5e is a 4-pair cable, Category 5 Enhanced (Refined / Enhanced Specification). Data rates up to 100 Mbps when using 2 pairs and up to 1000 Mbps when using 4 pairs. Category 5e cable is the most common and is used to build computer networks.
